Restoring your Default Audio Device back to the Sound Card
When the VoIPvoice phone installs on the PC, it is automatically selected by Windows to be the new default audio device. The effect experienced by the user is that all sounds played by the PC such as Music, Windows sounds, Games sounds etc. will play through the phone and not the speakers.
To make these sounds play through the PC speakers as before, some settings in the Windows Control Panel need to be changed.
Windows XP Users
Click Start, then click Control Panel, double click Sounds and Audio Devices. Click the tab labelled Audio.
You will notice that VoIPvoice USB Phone is selected as the Default device for both Sound Playback and Sound recording. Using the dropdown arrows, select the soundcard to be the default device for both Sound playback and Sound recording and then click OK.
In our example opposite, the soundcard is SoundMAX Digital Audio - yours might be different
After making these changes, all Music, Windows sounds, Game Sound etc. will play from the PC speakers as before
Windows 2000 Users

Multimedia. Click the tab labelled Audio
You will notice that USB Audio Device is selected as the Preferred Device for both Sound Playback and Sound Recording. Using the dropdown arrows select the soundcard to be the default device for both Sound Playback and Sound Recording and then click OK.
In our example below, the soundcard is C-Media Wave Device – yours might be different.
